Council Bluffs' Iowa West Foundation has recently announced $4 million worth of grants to be distributed to 44 area nonprofit organizations and governmental entities during the fourth quarter of 2011.

The interim president and CEO of the Iowa West Foundation, Jerry Mathiasen, said that these recent grants signify their role as natural for a regional foundation, addressing many needs throughout southwest Iowa and eastern Nebraska.
